Recall check / REC-000287

FIAT 500X (2014–2018)

Published

What the hazard is

Potential injury to vehicle occupants including children in child restraints using the isofix anchor and not the seat belt.

What to do

FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles asking them to schedule a service booking with their nearest Fiat dealer. For further information consumers can contact https://www.fiat.com.au/contact-us.html or call FCA Australia on 1800 870 720.

Defect

If the vehicle has a faulty rear seat latch and the rear seat belts are not fastened and the vehicle is involved in a collision, this could cause the rear seats to unlatch and unintentionally fold forward. Where a child restraint is fitted using the isofix anchors and not the seatbelt, the child restraint could be impacted by the folding seat.
