What the hazard is

If this condition remains undetected, it may lead to a loss of brake function on the affected wheel without notice, posing an accident hazard.

What to do

Owners should contact their nearest Harley-Davidson dealership to arrange an inspection and remedy. The nearest dealership can be found at https://www.harley-davidson.com/au/en/find-a-dealer.html Harley-Davidson Motor Company Inc will provide a ‘one-time’ brake fluid flush, after which it will be the owners’ responsibility to have the brake fluid on their vehicles flushed every two years, as set down in their vehicle owner’s manual.

Defect

On the affected model motorcycles, if the brake fluid is not flushed for a prolonged period of time beyond the 2 year schedule specified in the Owner’s Manual and Service Manual, a braking issue may develop.
