What the hazard is
In the worst case, vehicle controllability may be affected. The vibration diminishes as the vehicle's speed reduces, however.
What to do
All owners of affected vehicles will be contacted individually by letter. Owners are advised to contact their authorised Hino Dealer for installation of the steering damper.
Defect
In the affected vehicles, if the front tyre(s) are subjected to a large external force such as running over a large pot hole or bump in the road at high speed, there is a possibility that the steering wheels may vibrate. The degree of vibration may be inflenced by vehicle loading, tyre condition and wheel alignment.
