What the hazard is

In the worst case scenario, if the vehicle is continued to be used without repairing, the subject bracket may come off, ultimately causing the propeller shaft to fall onto the road. This may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

What to do

All owners of affected vehicles will be contacted individually by letter. The remedy will be to replace the subject bolts and nuts with the enhanced ones and tighten them to the specified torque.

Defect

In the subject vehicles, the bolts and nuts fixing the centre bearing support bracket of the propeller shaft have been tightened to the incorrect torque.
