What the hazard is

While the brakes will still be operable, if power assistance is reduced or lost, there is an increased risk of a collision, which could result in injury or death of vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

What to do

Consumers will be contacted by Peugeot Australia and requested to contact Peugeot Australia to arrange to visit a dealership for a vehicle inspection, software update and replacement of any affected parts. For further information, contact the Peugeot Customer Experience Team by phoning 1800 307 607 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm) or use the contact form at https://www.peugeot.com.au/helpful-links/contact-us/contact-us-by-email/ To find a dealer, visit https://www.peugeot.com.au/dealers/

Defect

The braking system’s power assistance may be lost or reduced. This is due to a reduction of available vacuum in the system due to degradation of the timing belt if affected by aged engine oil.
