SUBARU FORESTER (2012–2014)

Published

What the hazard is

A stalled engine and/or inability to start or restart the engine may pose a safety risk to the driver and/or other road users. In a worst case scenario this could lead to serious injury or death.

What to do

Known owners will be contacted by mail and asked to present their vehicle to their preferred Subaru Retailer for inspection and/or rectification at no charge. Further information can be obtained from the Subaru Customer Relations Team by telephoning 1300 550 994 (Mon-Fri 8am to 8pm AEST; Sat 8.30am to 5pm AEST), emailing feedback@subaru.com.au or visiting https://www.subaru.com.au/recall.

Defect

In affected vehicles the wiring loom may touch the clutch pipe. In a worst case scenario the clutch pipe may rub through the wiring loom insulation creating a short circuit that may cause the engine to stall and not restart.
