Published

What the hazard is

Reduced tension in the belt may result in the dashboard warning lamps illuminating. In the worst case the belt may dislodge from the power steering pulley and the driver will need to increase efforts to steer the vehicle.

What to do

Suzuki will write to owners of affected vehicles. Owners are advised to contact their authorised Suzuki dealership for inspection and replacement of the tensioner assembly.

Defect

The engine drive belt tension adjuster pulley, which maintains tension of the engine drive belt for various ancillaries, has been found to potentially have an incorrectly manufactured internal spring.
