What the hazard is

If the plug-contact short circuits or overheats, this may cause a fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

What to do

All known owners will be contacted by BMW Group Australia Ltd or a BMW dealer. Consumers may contact an authorised BMW Service centre, or call the BMW Group Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299 to arrange inspection and repair. Consumers can also contact BMW Group Australia via the BMW Group Australia website: https://www.bmw.com.au For further information, consumers can go to the BMW Australia website, and using either their vehicle's VIN or chassis number, check to see if their vehicle has an outstanding technical action, or an outstanding safety recall via https://www.recall.bmw.com.au/

Defect

The plug connection from the wiring harness to the blower controller may deteriorate over time. This may cause the plug-in contact to short circuit or overheat.
