Toyota Motor Corporation will contact owners of all affected vehicles individually by letter.
Defect
There is a possibility that the vehicle's engine hood (bonnet) inner panel may crack in the proximity of the striker (part of the retaining latch mechanism) due to prolonged driving on corrugated road surfaces. If vehicle operation continues in this condition, the fracture will extend around the welds of the striker resulting in increasing movement and rattling noise.
