What the hazard is

There is no asbestos-related health risk to the driver or any passengers who use the vehicle. The gaskets are tightly embedded in the vehicle and present no hazard during normal operation of the vehicle. Caution must be taken if carrying out maintenance. Procedures have been prepared and implemented to ensure that the gaskets are handled correctly by mechanics during maintenance of the vehicles. Any work involving these gaskets should be carried out by an authorised Great Wall dealer or a licensed motor mechanic who has been made aware of these procedures.

What to do

Letters will be sent to owners with affected vehicles. The affected gaskets will be replaced as and when required during normal in-service operation. However, if you have any concerns regarding the presence of affected gaskets in your vehicle, please contact the customer service department on 1800 114 672 to arrange for the replacement of the affected gaskets. For more information, customers should contact their local authorised Great Wall dealer or call the toll free Great Wall customer assistance number: 1800 114 672
