What the hazard is
If air braking is impacted, the condition progresses and audible and visible warnings are ignored, the parking brake would eventually be applied automatically, increasing the risk of an accident.
What to do
Cummins has sent a notification to owners to inform them of the safety issue, and to provide instructions to schedule the repair of the engine. Cummins will replace the existing high mount air compressor configuration of the affected engines with a new low mount air compressor configuration. Defect
The engines may experience decreased air compressor output, impacting air braking.
