What the hazard is

If the vehicle moves from its parked position while unattended, it may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

What to do

Affected owners can book their vehicle in for a free rectification at any authorised Subaru Service Centre Australia-wide. Subaru Australia will contact affected owners in writing to request that owners make an appointment to have the vehicle repaired. Owners can find the contact details for the authorised Subaru Retailer Network on subaru.com.au/retailers by entering their postcode and selecting “Service” from the “Department” drop down menu. A selection of the nearest Subaru Retailers will be displayed including the contact details to book instantly online or by phone. Alternatively, owners can contact Subaru Australia’s Customer Relations Team on 1800 22 66 43 to assist with booking.

Defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the Electronic Park Brake (EPB) adaptor cord connector may not operate as intended. This could result in vehicle moving or rolling away whilst the vehicle is engaged in the park position.
