What the hazard is
A loss of motive power and/or parts detaching from the vehicle whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders.
What to do
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest authorised Daimler Truck dealership to schedule an appointment to have the propeller shaft replaced, free of charge.
Defect
The propeller shaft balance weight may not have been welded to the required specifications and could detach. If this occurs, it may lead to vibration in the propeller shaft, causing abnormal noise and a loss of motive power whilst driving.
