What the hazard is
Incorrectly located reflectors and side marker lamps will reduce the visibility of the trailer to other road users. This will increase the risk of an accident resulting in serious injury or death. Trailers may not be complaint with ADR 13/00- Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles and ADR 74-Side Marker Lamps.
What to do
Owners of affected trailers will be contacted by BTH and are asked to arrange with their nearest authorised dealer to have their trailer inspected and the work carried out, free of charge.
Defect
The location of the front and side reflectors fitted to the affected trailers do not comply with the requirements of Australian Design Rule (ADR 13/00). In Addition, the side marker lamps fitted to the affected trailers do not comply with the requirements of Australian Design Rule (74/00).
