Published

What the hazard is

A loss of motive power whilst driving and/or a vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and/or damage to property.

What to do

Lexus will contact affected owners in writing, requesting they make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer who will rectify the vehicle, free of charge. To find a local dealer, visit https://www.lexus.com.au/contact/find-a-dealer For further information, consumers can contact their preferred Lexus dealer or contact the Lexus Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 023 009 (Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm AEST).

Defect

Due to a Transmission Control Module (TCM) programming issue, the transmission may rev faster than intended causing a loss of motive power and transmission fluid to leak. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a vehicle fire whilst driving.
